Must-See of the Week: L-Beach Special
If you missed out on the fun that was L-Beach, here’s your chance to catch up on at least some of it.
Last weekend, about 5000 (!) women met at Weißenhäuser Strand, a holiday resort in the northern part of Germany directly by the Baltic Sea, for the very first L-Beach festival. The motto was “music – girls – fun – holidays”, which actually sums the weekend up very nicely.
Thanks to the magic of cell phone cameras and YouTube, you can be part of the fun even if you weren’t there. Here are some of the videos that are online so far:
Dance floors, pool party, live musical acts, not to forget sun and a blue sky – L-Beach offered it all, as you can see in this video by Frau Hoppe, one of the DJanes at the event:
One of the top musical acts was of course Uh Huh Her from Los Angeles. After traveling for more than two days, which included driving from Paris to Weißenhäuser Strand for 16 hours straight, and 60 hours without sleep Camila Grey and Leisha Hai(r)ley were welcomed with a well-deserved thunderous applause by about 4000 screaming lesbians. They played some songs from their new album that comes out in the fall, and of course some of their older, well-known songs. Like “Wait Another Day”:

But even though Uh Huh Her were THE band everybody was waiting for, me included, and even though I – like probably everybody else in L-Circus that night – screamed, sang and clapped loudly and wildly during their performance, I have to admit that my favourite live act was someone else: former German “Superstar” Elli Erl. Here is one of the reasons why:
