Verbotene Liebe Special: All About Carla & Stella
2. The Story So Far…
Love at first sight? Not for Carla and Stella.
When they first meet, Stella has just inadvertently splashed Carla with mud when driving through a puddle on the driveway to the castle. Furiously, Carla calls Stella out for what happened, but Stella ignores her and walks away. When Elisabeth later suggests to hire Stella as the new administrator for the castle, Carla is against it. But Elisabeth, Sarah and Leo manage to convince Carla that Stella is the right one for the job, and Carla gives in. Still, from the very first day it seems that Carla and Stella just will not get along, and that Stella’s days on Königsbrunn are numbered.

Stella has a tough first day in Königsbrunn, as Carla shows her that she does not believe in her skills
The ice starts to break when Stella saves Carla from a persistent admirer by telling him that they are a couple. Carla starts to see Stella differently, and while they are organizing a big event for Königsbrunn in honor of Princess Louise von Waldensteyck, Carla begins to appreciate Stella’s expertise – and not only that.
Soon, Carla develops a huge crush on Stella, and it gets more and more difficult for her to hide it, especially after she finds out that Stella is a lesbian as well. In a moment of closeness, Carla misinterprets a movement by Stella and kisses her. When Carla later apologizes to Stella, she claims that the kiss did not mean anything, but when Stella agrees with her, Carla is disappointed.

Carla is surprised when Gregor tells her that Stella is a lesbian
In the weeks following the kiss, it gets more and more difficult for Carla to be around Stella. Stella finally notices that something is going on. She eventually confronts Carla with her behaviour, but when Carla confesses that she has fallen in love with Stella, Stella tells her that she does not feel the same for Carla. Carla decides to deal with the situtation matter-of-factly and not take it out on Stella.
They grow closer to each other again when Carla’s cousin Sebastian gets kidnapped. Stella criticizes Carla for not showing any emotion at first, but when Carla finally breaks down, Stella supports and comforts her. She even suggests that she and Carla should spend some time together to get to know each other better. After a night out, they are in a cheerful mood, and Carla kisses Stella again. But then Stella crushes Carla’s hopes when she tells her that there is another woman in her life.
Stella admits that she has fallen in love with Charlie Schneider, Sophia’s aunt and the owner of “Schneider’s”, a fancy restaurant. Carla is jealous and can barely hide that from Charlie. When Stella plans a short trip with Charlie to visit a winery, the oblivious Charlie invites Carla to join them, because she thinks that Carla needs to get away for a few days – and because she wants to hook Carla up with Stella. During a wine tasting, Charlie and Stella get very drunk, and Carla has to witness how Stella kisses Charlie.

But the days following their trip together, Charlie makes it clear that she is not interested in women. Stella is disappointed, but glad that the kiss did not destroy their friendship. Still, Stella cannot get over her feelings for Charlie, and eventually confesses to Charlie that she is in love with her. Charlie tells her that she does not feel the same way, and that she cannot imagine falling in love with a woman. Stella is saddened, and tries to avoid seeing Charlie because it hurts too much.

At an event at Königsbrunn, Stella still tries to help Charlie to get to know an influential artist who could bring business to her restaurant Schneider’s. When the woman walks by, Stella kisses Charlie. First, Charlie is mad at her, but the trick works, as it turns out that the woman is a lesbian as well.
Unfortunately, a picture of Stella and Charlie kissing ends up in a tabloid. Charlie is furious, until she realizes that her supposed relationship with Stella helps business, and she decides to play along. But when she wins a LGBT award and even accepts it, Stella gets mad. Charlie sees that she has gone too far, and clarifies the misunderstanding.
Charlie eventually realizes that her feelings for Stella are in fact more than just amicable, and she decides to give a relationship with Stella a try.

What a great job telling the story. I’ve been watching VL and enjoying CH for some time now and struggle to explain things to my English-only friends. You’ve done it so well.

Beautiful woman. Carla & stella sweet couple,
Thank you so much for doing this! I really enjoyed the way you’ve recapped their story and the screencaps were a great addition. Gosh, I’m really going to miss Starla. Let’s hope we’re going to see them again some day.
Wow, thanks for your wonderful recap of the show! I wondered if I should watch this show, and your vivid description makes me want to watch right now.
Carla and Stella have such a full (if dramatic) relationship. We should all hope to get to watch this in our respective countries.
