Carla is fed up with Ansgar’s humiliations. When Stella returns from Shanghai and announces that she does not want to move there without Carla and Sophia, Carla makes a decision.

When Carla arrives at the Lahnstein Holding, Ansgar is in her office and reads her files. He again gleefully emphasizes that he is the boss now and that Carla is powerless. When he has finally left her office, Carla sits down and wants to start working, but soon has to realize that there is nothing for her to do because Ansgar took care of everything.

Carla eventually returns to the castle to spend time with Sophia. In the entrance hall, she meets Maria. They talk about Stella’s cousin Gregor, who is in a coma after a crash with his helicopter. Carla tells Maria that Ansgar keeps humiliating her, for which she blames Maria. Maria renews her offer to assign leadership of the company’s headquarters in Shanghai to Carla.

Later, Carla is in the salon and reads a book to Sophia when Stella returns. Carla gets up and goes over to her, still carrying Sophia. She embraces Stella and tells her that it is wonderful that she is back.

Stella (Anne Wis) returns from Shanghai

Carla wants to tell Stella about Gregor’s accident, but realizes that Stella already knows about it from the sad look on Stella’s face. Stella starts to cry and says that she went to the hospital straight from the airport and that it was horrible to see Gregor like that. Carla puts her arm around Stella and tries to comfort her by saying that Gregor is going to be alright.

Carla finishes reading to Sophia. Stella is watching them, until Sophia’s nanny comes to pick her up for her afternoon nap.

After the nanny has left with Sophia, Stella gets up to sit next to Carla on the sofa and says “Bye, bye, Shanghai.” When Carla asks her whether the offer was not really that good, Stella replies that it was even better, and that Shanghai is a great city, but that Carla and Sophia are not there and that she cannot imagine a life without them anymore.

Stella is sorry that they even had a fight because of that. Carla tells her that she is sorry, too, but that it is not important anymore. Stella then adds that she could not leave anyway, as long as Gregor had not recovered from his accident. Carla agrees with her, then adds that maybe, after Gregor’s recovery, they could talk about Shanghai again. Stella is surprised and asks whether Carla wants to get rid of her. Carla replies that she does not want to get rid of Stella, but of Ansgar.

She tells Stella that she is fed up with all the fighting, and that there is nothing for her to do anymore at the Holding, so why not Shanghai. Stella meets her with disbelief, then wants to know whether Carla is serious. Carla smiles and says yes. With a sigh of relief and happiness, Stella hugs Carla.
