Monday, August 31st, 2009 (3454)

Carla refuses to hear Maria out and gets ready to leave Schneider’s. Stella tries to hold her back, but Carla tells her that she can do without a mother like that, and that it was not the first time that her mother deceived her. When Stella still is not giving up, Carla makes clear that Stella does not know anything about her mother, that she, Carla, is old enough to take care of herself and that Stella should stop interfering. Then she storms out.

Back at Königsbrunn, Carla is in the dining room, sad and lost in thought, when Ansgar enters the room. Carla asks him to leave her alone, but of course he cannot stop himself from taunting Carla. He tells her that the way she is feeling, feeling deceived by her mother, is exactly how he felt when it came to their father, who always favoured Carla over him. Now furious, she turns around and raises her hand to hit him, but he manages to stop her. She starts calling him names, and when he turns his back on her and intends to leave, she begins to slap him.

Carla eventually manages to calm Sophia down. While cuddling with her in front of the fireplace, Carla promises Sophia that she would never leave her, because Sophia is the most important thing in her life. Then she adds: “You and Stella”.

Stella is sitting at her desk, also lost in thought. Finally, she decides to call it a night. As she gets ready to leave, she does not notice that Carla is standing in the door to her office until Carla starts talking.

Carla apologizes for her behaviour, saying that it was unfair. Stella replies that she should not have gotten involved and that she wanted too much. She then explains to Carla that, after her father died, she had a fight with her mother. Their relationship never recovered from that fight, and Stella does not want the same thing to happen to Carla. Carla says that she is sorry for Stella, and they kiss and hug.

Carla and Stella are making out on the sofa in Stella’s office when there’s a knock on the door. It’s Maria who has come to ask Stella to have a room prepared for Eduard von Tepp (who has returned to Königsbrunn after Louise eloped with Stella’s cousin Gregor). While Stella makes the necessary call, Maria tries to talk to Carla. But when Carla demands an explanation from her, Maria does not know what to say. Carla tells her that from now on, she is going to focus on the things that are really important to her, and that she does not care anymore what Maria and Ansgar do. Then she leaves the office together with Stella.

  2. Thanks so much for the recaps. I’ve been trying to follow this story line, but a little difficult since I don’t speak German.
