I came across so many great videos this week that I couldn’t decide which ones to post right away and which ones to keep for later, so I decided to post all of them. And since it’s the weekend, maybe you will find the time to even watch them. (I can only recommend that, because they’re very, very good!)

2. Spielzeugland

This is the Academy Award winning short movie by German filmmaker Jochen Alexander Freydank. I saw it on TV last week and was very, very impressed. Unfortunately, it’s in German and doesn’t have any subtitles, but maybe you can still give it a try. The story takes place in WW2: When a little boy learns that his best friend and the friend’s family will be brought away the next morning he asks his mother where they are going. The mother, who can’t bring herself to tell him that his friend will be sent to a concentration camp, tells her son that the family is going to “Spielzeugland” (toy land). The boy doesn’t understand why he isn’t allowed to go to Spielzeugland as well and decides to go with his friend.
