"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

I love this quote by John Lennon, because it reminds us that even if we think we have mapped things out and are in control of everything, here comes life and surprises us. It forces us to stay open for what’s really going on, for the important things in life, and to reflect on our plans from time to time whether they’re still what we want and what’s good for us.For example, I was planning on presenting you with a thoroughly thought-out yet humorous new edition of my column today, and then life interfered (in a good way, don’t worry), and the only thing I can think of writing about is this John Lennon quote. So for today, I’m just going to leave it at that, because what’s the point in writing a column titled “MeL’s Point” if MeL really doesn’t have a point?

I’m planning on writing a longer column again next week. Unless, you know, life happens. Wink

Just one more thing:

Please keep your fingers crossed that the majority of voters in California votes “No” on Prop. 8 this Tuesday.
